The best protein buys, ranked by protein per baht

If you live in Bangkok, there's a 7-Eleven within a few minutes of almost anywhere you stand. That makes it the most reliable place in the city to hit a protein target between meetings, after the gym or on the way home late. The trick is knowing which items are actually worth the baht.

Using 2026 list prices published by KTC, here's how the everyday staples rank when you divide grams of protein by price.

Meiji, Hooray!, Vitaday and MOOVE bottles carry 25–33g each. You pay more per gram for the convenience.

Plant-based
Soy, almond, Meat Zero

Tofusan, Plantaé's 12g almond protein milk and CP's Meat Zero range cover the meat-free options.

A note on chicken breast

The tender chicken breast packs are the default gym pick for good reason: 18g of lean protein with no prep. Per baht, though, the smoked chicken footlong beats it by a wide margin. If price matters more than format, grab the footlong.

How to read protein labels at 7-Eleven

Most products in a Thai 7-Eleven carry Thai-language nutrition panels, and front-of-pack "high protein" claims aren't always comparable. Three quick checks help:

  • Look for the Healthier Choice logo. Thailand's Healthier Choice symbol marks products that meet nutrition criteria for their category, and Thairath's 7-Eleven guide points shoppers to it first.
  • Check protein per bottle, not per serving. Some drinks list a serving smaller than the bottle. Multiply it out before you compare.
  • Read the sugar line next to protein. A 25g shake with a lot of sugar is a different product from a 25g shake with none. Thai creators on Lemon8 compare shakes on exactly this, along with protein type and taste.

For packaged meals, CP's FI-IT range is positioned around high protein with reduced sodium and fat, and is a reasonable place to start when you want something hot rather than a snack.

7-Eleven is betting on protein across Asia

This isn't a Thailand-only trend. 7-Eleven is reworking its range around protein in nearly every market it operates in, which means more and better options are heading for Bangkok shelves.

Closer to home, Plantaé brought a soy-free almond protein milk into Thai 7-Elevens in June 2026. Singapore stores now carry whole shelves of bars, shakes and 30g protein milk. Korea launched a high-protein ready-meal brand, Balancespoon, in May, and the Philippines added a 19g chicken breast in March.

People noticed before the press did. In one month we logged 70 posts of shoppers filming protein hauls, shake rankings and label guides in convenience stores, 17 of them from Thailand, many in Thai on Lemon8.

7-Eleven is only one option on your street

7-Eleven is the easiest place to find packaged protein in Bangkok, but it's rarely the best meal near you. The gai yang cart outside, the khao man gai shop across the soi and the salad counter in the mall food court might all beat it. None of them list protein, and delivery apps rarely show it either.

That's why we're building Range. It ranks everything within walking distance by most protein, protein per baht, or most protein under a calorie cap, with a source for every number.
